Can’t wait for Spring?
A few years back I worked with German publishers arsEdition on a fresh new version of an old Ukrainian folktale ‘The Mitten’ or ‘Der verlorene Handschuh’ in German. I am delighted that this book has been very successful throughout Europe and there are co-editions published in many Countries including The Netherlands, France, Romania, Turkey, Basque Country and South Korea.
The Mitten is set in the depths of Winter and during the dark days of the recent COVID pandemic I started to think of follow up stories set in the Spring. In the mid-Winter and during the pandemic I think most of us dreamt of brighter days.
I am very excited to announce that ‘Endlich Frühling!’ (“Spring at Last!) will be published in Germany in February 2023 and rights will be available from arsEdition publishers in Germany.
This story was written by German author Michael Engler and features the robin and the other animal characters as they awaken from their winter slumber, and have a challenge to overcome before they can enjoy the delights of Spring.
