Author - Illustrator

I am a freelance illustrator and aspiring author living on the south coast of the UK.

I have worked professionally as an illustrator for the past 20 years, primarily in children’s book publishing and art licensing. More recently I have started to write my own stories.

I have illustrated over 50 children’s books covering all fields and age ranges including educational, pre-school novelty and board books, picture books and young fiction.

Publishing clients include: Ars Edition Germany, Highlights for Children, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, John Brown Junior, Ladybird, Kar-Ben, Little Tiger Press, Marks & Spencer, Miles Kelly, Oxford University Press, Parragon, Hachette Pat-a-Cake, Hodder Education, Simon & Schuster, & Small World Creations

I have licensed designs to Abacus, Barnados, International Greetings, Museums & Galleries, Nigel Quiney, Noel Tatt, Sellers Publishing, Simon Elvin, & Whistlefish amongst others.

My style uses a mixture of hand drawn line and textures incorporating these digitally in Photoshop.

My favourite subjects to draw come from nature. I have a background in science with a degree in Botany, and a lifelong interest in wildlife and environmental issues.

When I am not at my desk I can usually be found pottering at my allotment. My passion is wildlife gardening, and I also work part time as a gardener helping create wildlife friendly gardens.
